FAQ

Where is your office located?

22 Washington Blvd.
Marina Del Rey, CA 90292

I also offer Telehealth.

What are your hours?
My hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 am –3 pm, although I am flexible in scheduling a time that works for you.

I am busy with Ph.D. research Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Therefore, I cannot set up an appointment on weekends.

How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes, but a whole EMDR intake can take up to 1.5 hours.
How much do you charge?
I charge $200 every 50 minutes to an hour.
Do you take insurance? Why or why not?
I don’t take insurance because I don’t know how to deal with insurance. Also, with insurance, the insurance company reads your personal information. Finance and business majors are great at taking insurance.
How do I set up an initial appointment?
Text me to schedule a day and time, and I will be there once confirmed.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours’ advanced notice. If you fail to cancel within 24 hours, I will charge you $100.
With what age ranges do you work?
I work with individuals 18 to 70 years of age.
Do you work with women? Men? Couples?
I work with all genders, identities, and pronouns except couples. I am not a couples counselor, nor do I do couples work.
What do you do in sessions with clients? What modalities do you use?

I use Psychotherapy. It is important to remember that there is no “one size fits all” in therapy and no universal approach to help every individual.

Meeting the needs of my clients is why I have training in various modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Depth Psychology, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR which is my specialty). Because of this training, I can approach clients according to their unique situations and experiences.

Do your clients receive assignments to work on between sessions?
It depends on the client, their personality type, what’s on their treatment plan, and if it complements their progress.
What is your professional training and experience?
My educational background includes my current Ph.D. program in Depth Psychology. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and was the clinical director of six detox & residential facilities, including LifeSync Malibu, Rebos Detox, A Giving Tree, Hollywood Recovery Center, New Spirit Recovery, and Phase 2 ATC in Encino. I was the first to create LifeSync Malibu addiction residential program alongside medical doctor, Geoffrey Booth.
What else must a client know to make the most out of working with you?
The best client is an individual who will be honest and open so that I can help them in this nonjudgmental environment.
Cats or Dogs?
I love both, although losing my puppy of 18 years, “Shangool,” caused an amazing amount of grief that I had to work through and did.
Will Telehealth affect the quality of therapy?

No studies show Telehealth as less effective than in-person therapy. My results in EMDR therapy have shown to be as effective, if not more, through video. Unfortunately, I can’t hand you a tissue if you begin to cry.
